Apple pate

Here’s a delightful recipe for apple pâté that combines sweet and savory flavors:

Ingredients:

  • 2 large apples (like Granny Smith or any tart variety), peeled and chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 50g walnuts or pecans, chopped (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Sauté the Aromatics: In a pan, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.

  2. Cook the Apples: Add the chopped apples, cinnamon, and lemon juice to the pan. Cook until the apples are soft and slightly caramelized (about 10-15 minutes). Allow to cool slightly.

  3. Blend the Mixture: In a food processor, combine the cooked apple mixture and nuts (if using). Blend until smooth.

  4. Season: Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.

  5. Chill: Transfer the mixture to a container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.

  6. Serve: Enjoy as a spread with crackers, bread, or on toast. It also pairs well with cheese!

This apple pâté is a unique and tasty addition to your appetizer spread! Enjoy!
